Independence Day begins early in Cross Plains with the Kilgore Remembrance Ceremony, 9am, July 4, at the Villines Cemetery, just west of downtown Cross Plains. The Cross Plains Heritage Commission hosts the event featuring a flag recognition, longhunter reenactors, and other remembrances of Thomas Kilgore and our area’s first European settlers.
Our Cross Plains tradition continues into the evening with live music at Kilgore Park beginning at 5pm and continuing until the fireworks go off at 9pm. VFW Post 2120 will conduct a flag ceremony with special guests including guest speaker Lynne Smith.
Live music with the Robertson County Community Band, the Square Pegs, and more!
There will be food vendors on site. Bring your family for this FREE event.
